RED BARN FARM
Internal alterations to a farmhouse to create a lifelong home.
Alterations to improve accessibility and creation of a self-contained apartment are future proofing steps to meet the homeowners changing requirements
A new entrance porch facilitates easier wheelchair access, provides shelter from the elements and creates direct access from both the utility and the garage.
The self-contained apartment is divided into four zones; sleeping, living, changing and washing. Full height storage was built into the eaves and pocket doors were introduced to maximise the space. Three new dormer windows were introduced into the existing roof to increase light into the space, improve head height and provide views across open countryside.
